any word on if this theater is going all digital soon? Garden State 16 and Jersey Gardens 20 are among the first to go all digital.

BTW, cookie dough candy is now on sale at this theater, according to a moviegoer who tweeted about it online.

John Fink, what movie had the longest run at this theater?

When I first went to this theater in 1999, it was the first time I went to a General Cinema since 1991, when the Totowa cinema was open. I saw new policy trailers before the movie and liked the mascot, Popcorn Bob. Too bad he got killed by Clip from AMC before Clip went into the sunset. Anyways, here’s the policy trailer that debuted in 1997 when the Essex Green (another GCC theater) 9 opened…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cN-ym0IUBuA
It’s good that this theater won’t get a liemax but what about ETX? This theater as well as Essex Green and Bridgewater in NJ have THX.

during the horrible rain storm, clifton commons had no power; that included the shopping center and the movie theater. there was flooding near it, but not as bad as in Wayne or Paramus. As for this decade, as Clifton Commons becomes all digital by 2012, the Allwood Sixplex will become obsolete, making this theater the only one in town, with the Fabian nearby, two theaters in Wayne, a five-plex in Hawthorne with digital projection in all screens, and a 14 plex in Secaucus.

Did it open that day? If so, how does it compare to the old cafe? Also, I noticed that avatar was playing on four screens with 3-D. Check my post on that other Clifton theater, which got digital projection (2-D) in that small theater and is 2k. It’s the only theater in Clifton that has Avatar in 2D.

thankfully the person who found the purse returned it to the manager to give back to the owner who left it before leaving the theater.

which means one 2k projector and two 4k projectors leaving 13 35mm projectors. Does THX still check theaters #8 and #9?

not sure about Imax but do know that this theatre is getting two 4k projectors in next 2 weeks

Paranormal Activity is playing at this theater on several screens. Will this theater get the IMAX treatment? The entire building is not as tall as other AMC theaters in North Jersey…so it might get 4k for all screens (i guess).

Since Rockaway got 3D, I won’t have to go back to Clifton Commons to see a 3D movie at an AMC theater..hopefully AMC upgrades the screens with 4k….does THX still check the two screens? Also I watched a report on News 12 that crime issues have increased near the theater and other stores in which cars have been stolen or broken into….thankfully I don’t go to this place as I used to in its early years.

From what I read on Twitter, all four midnight showings of Wolverine were sold out. Pretty amazing for a theater that’s still 10 years old into its lifeline.

the first movie i saw here was you got mail, during free movie weekend. the film started with the policy ads and the first few minutes of a trailer without sound. the sound came on, although it was only dolby stereo. the next free movie i saw, star trek insurrection, was in digital. there have been a few movies that didnt have digital surround sound, such as when the phantom menace came out. back then it was out for a few weeks and i saw it with my late nana. the movie was crap, although it could have been better if the manager turned on the dolby ex system, since i went to a non-THX showing. i also read online that former newark mayor sharpe james went to this theater as well as the secaucus ones before he got busted.

Just went by the theater on my way to a knicks/76ers game, and nearly 10 years since the theater opened, there’s lots of new stores around Route 3, and the theater is still hopping.
