Actually, I think it’s 1353 seats.

Just now saw it. What was the 2010 screen like, to be better than the 2014 screen?

1.90. in 2014 I believe they put a floating 1.90 no masking. The first RPX screen installed in 2010 was better.

Can anyone remember the aspect ratio of the RPX screen? Is it 1.90 or 2.35? Or is it somewhere in between?

It’s kinda like Dolbyy Cinema at AMC where the sound is better than the imax yet the picture sucks

For me I think the RPX is a waste of money. Spending the extra money to see bars at the top and bottom of the screen is a waste.

Theater 13 (RPX) is indeed a flat floating screen now, so it doesn’t have masking. The GM told me that it was 70 foot.

Theater 12 remains a standard wall installed screen, so it has masking. A scope movie won’t have letterboxing here (thank goodness). However a flat movie in theater 12 will have some image cut off due to the masking being weird there for flat movies and not moving all the way to the sides. The staff could probably fix it by adjusting the lens before a flat movie begins playing but of course that is an unreasonable expectation nowadays.

I’d recommend for flat movies here to go to Theater 13 and for scope titles to go to theater 12.

However even scope films in the RPX are alright because the screen is so huge, it’s like an IMAX screen, the letterboxing isn’t as annoying as elsewhere.

The sad thing Theatre 13 specs are wrong because Regal put in a newer RPX screen sometime after Argo played in 2013. All scope films have letterboxing. Regal should of left the original screen in 13.

Living in Philly, I saw only one movie there, in 2001, in aud 2, because I was seeing more movies in historic theaters. The opening article has the screens at 32 to 45 feet wide (with 4 of them being 36 feet wide) except for 2 auditoriums with 64 feet wide screens. The 64 feet wide is huge, but I did not know that there were such large screens in this plex when it opened. I’d fear now they don’t use masking so scope movies in those 2 large screens which have flat dimensions, would be letterboxed.

Just posted an article from Film Journal when E Walk open, it has the screen sizes.

Cineworld took over this theater?

What new logo signage? Nothing has been changed.

moviebuff82

New logo signage has been at this theater since Cineworld took over Regal back in the fall of last year. AMC needs to step up their a game and put more recliners in their other non premium screens to match up with regal.

I disagree. There are more theaters and showtimes now than 30 years ago. Some shows sell out but most don’t. The smaller capacity is actually more profitable due to higher prices. Why go to a theater if its more comfortable to stay at hone? Its helping ticket sales. Recliners are becoming the norm braces on most cases, they increase profits.

Personally, I think this strategy of pulling out half to two-thirds of the seats to install lounge seating is nuts. Every time they sell-out a show, they’re leaving money on the table, plus it limits the number of ideal seats. It might make sense for Monday-Thursday, but it makes no sense for weekends when popular movies draw big crowds. This theater used to have almost 3300 seats. Now it’s about 1345. The RPX screen was 508 and #12 was 490. Now they’re 208 and 204. They should have left #12 and #13 alone. Why do we have to lie down to see a movie? Ridiculous, IMO.

The Regal recliners are more comfortable than AMC version. Won’t pay $30. for 4DX.

The new capacities are: 1. 102 2. 128 4DX 3. 75 4. 79 5. 79 6. 79 7. 79 8. 83 9. 84 (still closed, but will be open when Stars Wars play. 10. 70 11. 76 12. 204 13. 208 RPX/Atmos and Auro 11.1

The EMPIRE accross the street needs to upgrade or when movies play date, E-Walk business will impact the AMC Empire 25. The only time I’ll go to the EMPIRE is for IMAX 12 chanels or Dolby Cinema.

the new renovation is so good! They tottally gutted the theaters and vamped up the sound and picture in addition to good recliners not the cheap amc ones. This is probably my new favorite standard multiplex theater in the city.

They were doing the renovations when I worked there running Dunkirk in July. 4 theatres at a time.
