    Marcus Loew Bronze Plaque for sale

    I have a vintage Marcus Loew bronze plaque that I am considering selling. Before I post it on ebay, I thought I would list it on this site. This plaque came from the Loew’s Oriental. It was taken in the 70’s. This is one of 144+ plaques installed in every Loew movie palace in the US in 1929. It’s in excellent condition and has an estimated replacement value of $1350 (if it were recreated today).I should mention that there is no signature or other identification of the artist of the bust.

    Thanks to Warren Harris for the 1929 article from the New York Times.

    At the time of Loew’s death in 1927, 144 theaters had been completed and 24 more were in construction. It is likely (though unconfirmed) that each of those 168 theaters had a memorial plaque installed in 1929. I wonder how many of the original plaques are still in place …

    Sherman Theater seats are for sale!

    Our new seats are in! 800 +– seats are for sale.They are former AMC movie theater seats that have been used in the Sherman Theater through this month.They are wide, comfortable seats with cupholders between each seat. Some plastic pieces on some of the seats are cracked. Great for renovation of theater or auditorium. All offers will be considered.

    We are installing new seats at our theatre, and the old ones are available to whoever wants them. There are 553 American Bodiform seats manufactured in 1961. They are in fair condition, red fabric with blue backs.

    Cinema signs and equipment for sale

    Our church owns a theater in Foley, AL.

    We have sold off the projectors and theater seats but we still have lots of things we need to sell.

    1. Large 20 foot sign reading, “Cinema” Also have seperated numbers, “12”
    2. Large 10 foot sign reading the same words
    3. Counter space. We would like someone to take out the space currently used concessions. There are large counters, and signs.

    Got a suitable venue for an art cinema?

    I’m looking to get back into exhibition where I began in the 70’s before moving into distribution and production. I’d like to find an available venue suited to a quality indie/art cinema perhaps close to a mix of sophisticated mix of collegiate and older movie lovers. I’d prefer something that is already more than a single screen, but that’s not a deal breaker in the right location.
